Quoting traderoneDislikedI may be cracking up, but isn't there more than one version of 1.0b ? More than one version of the hedged version? I have been running the "b" version.
Thanks for any advice.Ignored
QuoteDislikedThis EA will placed 1 hedge order for each Buy or Sell main orders. Also to control number of open orders, this EA has input OpenOrders. This sets the number of main orders opened for each chart. Eaxmple if = 2, max open orders will range 0-4. If = 3, range will be 0-6 max open orders.
Quoting 1trader2DislikedI decided to leave my live account with FXDD running with Firebird 1.0b2 through the NFP report. There were no problems. I booked 360 pips for the day and cleared some of the float. There was no drawdown. My float = ~ 11% of my balance. I have been trading live since 8/22/06. My oldest open trade is from 8/25. My equity has increased ~52% in 9 days. Today, I also straddled the news using the Amazing EA, and made an additional 14 pips. However, I manually closed this prematurely (my demo accounts made 40 & 50 pips.) Needless to say, I'm very pleased.Ignored
Quoting nvwineDislikedYes, Wackena released v1.0b2 on 8/27. It replaced v1.0b He said it fixed the hedge problems.Ignored
Quoting deeDislikedthanks for the lead for finding it. For those that would like the link http://www.forexfactory.com/forexfor...&postcount=373Ignored
Quoting mike4xDislikedKingForex very true.
Therein lies my big concern over going live with Firebird.
Take cable for example. Price is historically quite high at the moment around 1.9000 and the market has been fairly flat for a while.
Say we start a trend south and price moves 100 to 150 pips in a day. Firebird will buy every 20 or 30 pips depending on your setting.
Would you close all trades? Of course not. You would expect price to reverse (just like after NFP) and give Firebird more winners.
But what if price goes south again the next day and keeps going. OK max trades limits buys to 10 trades per currency but some of us are using 5 to 7 pairs. So you have 10 buy orders that stop out at -300 over lets say 5 pairs. That will give you a total of -15,000 pips.
It has happened many times before - ask Traderseven the author of the EA. I myself have tested 63g since March and twice all my profits (and more) have disappeared when a major trend started.
So just be aware before you go live. The old Firebird weakness is still there waiting to bite.Ignored
Quoting mr.traderDislikedHi 1trader2,
so it seems you version of the hedging firebird is working good, please can you post it ?
Thank you,

Quoting dofDislikedIt's funny how many posts for fireBird, here and on other forums.
Is fireBird the dream come true?Ignored
Quoting accreteDislikednvwine, thanks for reminding ppl there is a resource page for firebird, all the most recent versions and forms/manual are at the link you posted:
http://www.accrete.com/fx-mirror/mt4-firebird/. I don't know if it is possible for a moderator to ad this to one of the opening page's links, or if it is even desired to do so, but it would probably help the newbies out if it was centralized. I upload every new important document and file as soon as it hits this thread. : )
--------onto another thought:
I don't know about a "Dream come true" but one of my handful of FB demo test statements shows a whopping 1275 pips for four trading days last week. The account was cleared out at midnight Thursday by IBFX due to end of month so i could not continue the test through NFP on the same account. Not to be thwarted, i opened up 6 demo accounts trading the G-TS, 1c, and 1b2 on both 1m and 15m charts. Each went through the news much better than i can imagine myself doing with each pulling off an average of 140 net chart pips for the day after the dust settled.
I think it is worth the time. And i intend to work this until i know everything i can about the EA and it's personality. I also believe that combining TA with the EA will benefit one's account. For instance, if we know that FB gets hit hard during trending markets, what is to stop us from doing daily homework and doing our best to determin the trend/mode of the market and act accordingly tweaking the EA's functions such as only entering trades in the direction of the weekly trend or similar? Or staying out of EA use if market is ranging in a trade range that is greater than XXX pips??
Just rambling, but i think that the combination of intellegent homework/TA and use of the FBea settings can yeild consistant profits.
Cheers,
ThomIgnored
