Disliked14 pips is not nearly enough. Remember, the point of this strategy is to capture large moment in Gold from the USD weakening or getting stronger. The reason I trade gold is because, you basically trade last Fridays gold prices when you have current currency values.Ignored
DislikedHi kowalczyk,
For my first time to try and see how your system could have worked yesterday, I see EUR/USD gapping down and gold gapping up. I thought you said the euro's gap a proxy for the gold's? I wonder if you can tell what I am not getting right here.

DislikedWhen gold opened, EUR/USD did not make a large enough move so I would not have traded the open. Now for the retrace, gold did make quite a run. You might have been stopped out once but you would have made that back and then some. Personally, I did not trade that setup because I did not expect gold to make such a move and stopped watching after a while, but last weeks open was tradeable.Ignored
DislikedYesterday we saw good gaps on both gold and euro, but again in complete opposite directions.
I can't find the relationship between the euro and gold.Ignored
DislikedI see what you are trying to say. Their are unfortunately times when Gold and EURUSD go the oppisite ways. When I first started to trade this strategy, I only traded the retracement. Then I started trading the initial move too. However times have apparently changed. Currently, Gold goes the direction of the EURUSD about 65% of the time. So for now, you might only want to play the retracement, not the initial move.Ignored

DislikedWhat brokers do you guys use for trading the gaps? I'm looking at FXDD as the only viable option for a US trader who is looking to open an account with a low initial deposit requirement.
Others seem to have downtime at the required hour or don't open until 6pm EST on Sundays, which is too late in my opinion.
Thanks.Ignored

DislikedYou must have gone in late to get that price of 1.3506. Lucky or clever. I went in at 1.3520 but got stopped out at 1.3502. Sods law states it then rebounded. So in this case a loser but it has been working OK overall.
PS Dont expect to get this lucky always as my data shows you wont make a profit in the longrun with those settings you have.Ignored
