Gmail allows you to send messages to 500 recipients via their web interface or 100 recipients via an email client (POP/IMAP).

An alternative is to create a closed group (only invited members can join) in yahoo groups. Then you just send one mail to the group list and yahoos sends it out to the subscribers. Subscribers will need to create a yahoo groups account if they don't have one. I can help set it up if you want to try that it.
