This puts the cost of making something near the energy/ raw material source, and the consumer. Much more advantages.

Detroit and other car making areas around the Great Lakes wasn't by accident. It took 2 tons of coal to make 1 ton of steel. Both available near Great Lakes some shipped from Canada. North America is where all these come together. Cheap energy, raw materials, and the consumer.

China's lack of energy, raw materials and water shortage will always weigh on China versus U.S.

Bots can even build and fix bots. The next industrial revolution will be where energy is cheaper along with raw materials. It's all about the $.

Maybe even a bot army.. We already have drones. It's just a natural progression. With a $ God.

Think your job is safe. Wait till they train these bot to weed eat. Self driving delivery trucks are already reality. Cars soon to be in the masses. Robot warehouses are a reality. 3-d machines are a reality. Operations are performed thousands of miles away from the patient. Self checkout at many stores. Ibot security guards are a reality. And you think your job is safe? We are in the stone ages of bots now. Wait till AI takes us places we can't imagine atm.

The future may have us sitting at home getting a check for nothing. Alaska and Saudi Arabia has paid its citizens to do nothing for decades.

Gator, since you mention Kurds and me being very close to Turkey, I felt the need to say a few things about the current development in that part of the world.

US policy has been a mess with Turkey since the end of Clinton times. For reasons that I can not understand, USA decided to end the long lived love affair with one of the oldest and most trustworty ally it can ever get in the region. For those, who might not know history that well, Turkey actually stands for Ottoman Empire, which then turned into a modern Repuclic after the I. World War founded by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. The country has become a role model in the region and it probably still is the single democratic country which has a 97% Muslim population. Altough, the current Erdogan administration has damaged the core foundings of the nation - and him trying to turn the country into an Arab state, majority of people are still living in Western standards.

Kurds never had a country as they claim however after the end of I. World War, Ottoman Empire gave up most of its land - such as Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and many other north African countries which were all governed by the Empire itself. It is not a small population however they are not living only in Turkey. That is the major reason why Turkey does not want to give any more piece of land to any minorities and I guess this situatiın applies to any country. Imagine the Latinos want some states in the States, how would the country react? Or Gastarbeiter Turks in Germany, they are over 4 million in West Germany, or the Arabs in France..? No country would be willing to give any piece of land and this is the source of the problem.

Losing Turkey as an ally will have consequeces moving forward when you consider the situation of Israel. It was the only strong ally West could rely on and I doubt this is now the case. Turkey feels betrayed by USA and misspoken by a crazy man who probably won't have a place in D.C. this time next year.

I feel sorry for Kurds and have a sympathy for them however international politics is a complete different area. So there is more than meets the eye here and USA has to rebuild the badly damaged relationship instead of bringing in new threats on the table. It may not end well. Just the idea of Turkey becoming an ally with Iran and Russia creeps me out. That will be the end of many countries including Israel in the region. A dangerous game..

Men draw lines on a map, the winners of wars write the history. The Kurds as well as the American natives have a history, and ancient lands. Some European gave an empire a title. No doubt within this empire other cultures were present. It happens all over the world. The majority or the winner of the war takes land, and writes a history. These people came from somewhere. They had their own ancient land, time has moved the lines. On the history writers wims.

Many of the Latinos in the U.S. are in their ancient land. Many of them have Native blood. Mixed with the Spanish that conquered the natives. Much more of a blood right, than the Europeans. The first Europeans to America spoke Latin. That later was followed by French and English. Pushing forward by genocide of a culture. We mostly speak English today. See, the winners write history. The winners draw the maps.

History is not just 700 years old. Its tens of thousands of years old plus. Even older major religions, that splintered started, with Abraham (Jewish, Muslim, and Christian). Then we have many more not included. The Azeadise (misspelled) have a 3000 year history. The Buddhist 1500 years plus. Jediasm 4000 plus years. Who started on what land is not known. Most evidence shows we all came from Africa.

All this and 10$ will get me a large cup at Starbucks with a healthy tip.
My point of writing earlier was. The U.S. gave up a allies. And now under the current lead excursion. Women (young girls) are being raped, stoned and killed. Thousands are fleeing because of a stupid decision from a moron (it's not just Kurds, including Christians fleeing ). The same people that helped the U.S. are being sacrificed by a moron. If the excuse is, because an old Empire once had land. That may help some understand "why". I guess one excuse for raping women and young girls is as good as another. I know this has always happened in history. I wanted to point it out to the ones watching football tonight. While sitting in the lazyboy. If this is the way the U.S. treats its friends. Who wants to be friends. This damage will last for generations. This moronic decision will just spawn a new generation of terrorist (some Kurds have a reason now). Not to mention the gate was opened to let the Isis prisoners free. This moronic decision will linger for decades. This stupid decision puts Russia in the M.E. for more wars to sell arms. No peace on anyone's border to follow.
