Hello everyone.
I've been a software developer for more than 15 years at a large industrial corporation and have worked with IBM mainframes, novell networks, microsoft, linux systems and coded with many different programming languages, ranging from RPG II, RPG/400, C, pascal, delphi, C++.NET and more recently ruby on rails, python etc.
I've also dabbled in the world of forex trading but didn't quite made it as a manual trader, I couldn't take the emotional pain. So, I almost immediately went the automated trading way and became very proficient at developing MT4 indicators and programming Expert Advisors. I started doing it full-time and was able to go on my own as a freelancer MT4 full-time developer.
During these 5 years I've been a MT4 coder I noticed that a lot of people was interested in learning how to code their own indicators and EAs but most of them lacked the basis of programming theory. Because becoming proficient at programming requires a lot of practice, most people end up giving up because they don't have the right support. I've seen very intelligent young people just leave it alone because they had too much questions unanswered and could not find someone who would take them by the hand for a few months and lead them in throught coherent path to MQL4 mastery.
I've been maturing this idea for many months and thinking about how to structure a good opportunity for this type of person to be able to learn to code MQL4 through a well planned course path that would include sporadic tutoring sessions and, most importantly, structured in a way that would challenge the student to keep pace and be dedicated up until the finish line.
I am also an IS teacher, so I know a few things about structuring a curriculum.
Now, I am coming to the forum to try to understand if such a larger and comprehensive type of course would have any audience. Of course, this would be a paid service for which I would be willing to dedicate many hours of my time in order to create a group of very competent MQL4 (and MQL5 maybe) developers.
If cost is your issue, let's put a number on the table, we'll go for a possible monthly fee ranging $20 to $100 (I know its vague, but I'm not sure yet of what's involved).
This would have to work as a fixed schedule online class as I would be using video/audio.
Student could review each session online at a later time if they would miss the session. Material would be available in a restricted area and each student would have assignments to work on. This would necessarily have to be a hands-on course with lots of exercises and practice.
Please let your comments or just PM with a sincere opinion and let me know if anyone is really interested.
Thank you.
