Had the author of a LOT of great indicators that I use answer this over on mql5. Turns out he has written an indicator to do the exact thing: url

It's a proprietary one that an old acquaintance created. Honestly all I need is to copy the rectangles from MT4 to MT5. So far, the various "square peg" solutions I've tried wouldn't fit into this particular "round hole".

Does anyone know of a way to copy objects from an MT4 chart to an MT5 chart? I've got an indicator for MT4 that draws supply & demand zones, and have had great difficulty getting someone to convert it to MT5 for me. Since all it does is draw ...

How long do you wait for 4 of 5 to agree? If 3 of 5 agree at the close of today's candle, and one more joins at the close of tomorrow, do you get in then?

I've had IG and Pepperstone recommended to me. I'm gonna give them a look.

Same here. I've been using their web platform to send (and modify) my trades, and monitor them on MT4. Ironically, once I send it on the web platform, it shows up immediately on MT4. So that part is still working, at least. Fine for swing ...

One thing I've been doing is charting on my MT4, and then placing the trades on OANDA's web platform. Ironically, the trades show up on MT4 with no problem. It's an extra step, but for now it's working...as long as I have the luxury of an extra few ...

Well I found the problem, and it was something simple, though as of yet I don't know how to solve it. When it does the OrderClose line, and closes half the order, what's left open no longer has the same OrderTicket number as it originally had. Turns ...

I reviewed the data from my terminal, and it is running the OrderClose function 3 times before it is executing the OrderModify, all in about 1.5~2 seconds. So I've added a Sleep(5000) function at the end of the loop. Hope that will at least give the ...

Well that's what I thought at first, so I put in the line about checking if the OrderOpenPrice was greater than the OrderStopLoss. Because after it executes the OrderClose, it does an OrderModify to move the Stop Loss 2 pips above the Open Price. So ...

Yes, I think it's obvious that my code needs fixing, thank you. That is why I created the post in the first place. If I knew what the problem was, I wouldn't be asking for help.

Here are my results after 1 month, using a $1000 demo account, with most of the settings as described. I only take 1 trade per day per pair, and have the SL set at TP factor .5, with 15 pip min and 60 pip max boxes. I trade 0.01 lot size, with a ...

finally got it working. Set it with this, as per the suggestion: if(Hour()==14 && Minute()==00) {GlobalVariableSet("dailyStartingBalance", AccountBalance());} then used it with this: Comment("Daily Starting Balance = $" + ...
- pepperb replied Oct 6, 2021
I tried that. I created the variable in the tools menu "dailyStartingBalance", and set it to a value. When I put in my code: GlobalVariableGet(dailyStartingBalance); I got an "dailyStartingBalance - undeclared identifier" error.
- pepperb replied Oct 6, 2021
I know it's because I'm new at this, but I cannot for the life of me get this to work. Here's the what I inserted into my code: I set the variable globally first: double dailyStartingBalance = 1000; Then in the code, I inserted: if (Hour() == 6 && ...
