If you want to achieve slow and steady then why waste time and money trading. Simply buy and hold some index etf. You will definitely get more than savings account, on average and over many years, because you’ll be compensated for taking risk

I don’t want to get into it as I have no interest wasting others’ time. For e.g. you have other vain users on the site who will post their ‘concept’ but not reveal everything. The result is thousands of pages of a thread and people are still ...

Not at all, otherwise I would be a trillionaire. It’s another dimension of trading that majority doesn't think about because they’re so caught up in devising the best ‘system’. Just to be clear it isn’t some psycho-babble mumbo jumbo, it’s a very ...

Your previous reply was better, less antagonistic and answered my questions, not sure why you deleted it. It’s almost like you have an alter ego or got your account hacked LOL Not interested in learning about another path down the rabbit hole.

So your reply is to give me another system I have my own very simple system, so no thank you. Wondering which one? I buy closing above 50 EMA and sell the closing below it, yes that's it. I can do this profitably ...

I tried your strategy and like any other indicator it works sometimes, and doesn’t other times. The main problem is it’s impossible to tell which one is the equilibrium MA since it changes with time. Since you say it’s a profitable strategy, do you ...

Agree somewhat. If there’s a speculative system out there that works and no one else knows about except for you, then yes it can be profitable for some time till the edge is inevitably discovered by others. Note that this whole discussion applies to ...

Discipline is not an edge these days as an automated system that a 10 year old can write has 100% perfect discipline and can monitor markets and place trades while you’re asleep. It might have been an edge 40 years back, but not anymore

No need for indicators, I use price itself to tell me when consolidation period is likely finished

You should have an exit strategy before you enter a trade, you cannot decide how to exit after you enter the trade since your emotions will get to you. It doesn’t matter what the floating profit is, if your exit plan tells you to wait, you wait. You ...

@CeeSo How is your market view of using percentages different from using bollinger bands or keltner channels? They also statistically tell you the chance of closing beyond certain levels. All I see is a mean reversion strategy here

I wouldn’t even spend $1 on a strategy that I never tested or is unprofitable. If you think losing any amount on an untested/unprofitable strategy is not foolish then you’re a bigger fool than the thread starter. I’ve been using the strategy for 12 ...

It was an example, box size doesn’t matter. Renko charts show great trends but are deceptive. The signal to enter/exit does not necessarily come after a single completed bar, could take multiple completed bars.

Sorry @CeeSo but this will sound harsh. You’ve to be incredibly foolish to lose so much money on an unprofitable strategy. When I was tweaking my strategy I always did it on paper, never live. Only once I was absolutely sure I have an edge did I ...

Exactly. Suppose you’re long and the market starts to turn. It’s not necessary that you will get a single confirmed bearish bar as the exit signal, it could be like 10 bearish bars that complete at once due to strength of sell-off, resulting in ...

Do you trade or only predict?
- nim1984 replied Jun 9, 2020
Good question. Here’s my simple answer. A trend on a short time-frame is a single up/down bar on a higher timeframe i.e. “trend trading” provides no edge at all because you cannot predict the next bar on the higher timeframe. “Trend trading” sounds ...

@Hutch. A 3 trade or 30 day history is meaningless, that too on an anonymous forum. You could be only showing me the winning trades and hiding the losing ones. No serious trader worth his salt will trade with a ‘forex’ scam broker, he will stick to ...

You missed the point completely. In SPECULATIVE trading where the chances of getting positive expectancy over a long period is extremely low, it makes ZERO sense to pay anything more than few tenths of a percent as fees(which includes swaps, spreads ...

futures are your best bet. IB has 1% admin fee while LMAX has even worse swaps from what I saw
