what the fuck is going on with the TRY? It honestly looks like the Turkish central bank wants to punish the Turkish president. When will they intervene?

they won't raise interest rates yet, they will try something else first, probably jawboning or Central Bank manipulation. The question is when, and will my account be able to hold on until then? if it is jawboning it could be something like "we are ...

I am following Turkish news as close as I can because I have two shorts open in EUR/TRY and I still have no idea what is going on. I opened a double hedge long EURTRY today just when the move started and honestly, I have no idea what to do next. ...

the way I see it, any sanctions or punitive measures that stop Turkey from spending more money on military hardware from America is going to be good for the TRY.

Important news, but not enough at this point in the price action level. It is going to take a lot more than threats of sanctions over one person to keep the lira falling at this point. I mean, maybe sanctions are important, but it is too easy to ...

I thought he meant you should have put a chart up on the computer screen in front of the skeleton.

I don't know, but I went short again even though I thought it might go up a bit more.

I don't think so, not before late on Wednesday when the short TRY crowd want to avoid the triple swap. For now everyone is looking at everyone else.

The Central Bank probably doesn't want to increase the interest rate and then be unable to afford to pay all the lenders back without printing a lot of cash. They will probably watch and see and they have three options available to strengthen the ...

I read the same stuff on Bloomberg. It made me a tiny bit nervous and I put a stop loss on one of my short positions. My gut feeling is that this is all hysteria and if there is a rout in the TRY it will be a bear trap for TRY traders. I could be ...

chance of rate hike is slim. From the point of view of forex traders CB interest rate is a number, but for ordinary people trying to take out bank loans and do business in Turkish Lira it is a real issue and will harm the economy if it keeps going ...

This post is getting more relevant as the price sits more heavily on 4.78. The question I have is how can you tell if it breaks with good volume or not in Forex. I mean, if your broker gives you volume, that's still not really volume.

Nice!! I can't say I understand all of the details because I am not familiar with the software, but it looks like you have some very good entries.

My short I opened last week is still open (and negative), and I added another short today (which is also negative). I am going to hope for something that scares the EURTRY bulls and causes a flurry of stop triggering. I am trading EURTRY not the ...

The president said that he wants private banks to help shoulder the burden of lifting the Turkish lira. Knowing him, he could get it done and it would probably work ... short term.
- eozdural replied Jul 11, 2018
Don't panic, there is no reason for a devaluation right now. Price of oil is stable and the lira already lost a lot of value quite recently, and nothing has really changed since the last big spike. Unless something suddenly changes in the banking ...

I see, I thought you got in and got out for a profit in the Asian session; I thought that was impossible.
- eozdural replied Jul 10, 2018
I need to change brokers, I can't even imagine opening and closing 6 TRY positions in the asian session because my broker's spread is so wide.
