Weaker USD benefits the world and in particular America - we need to deflate our debt by scuppering our currency, printing money and giving out lots of Government jobs. However, I am given to understand that the Chinese will be supremely pissed if ...

Think you could be right Navin. Maybe we are about to see the House sign the 900Bn giveaway and let the printing commence..... Only way out of all the jumbo loans is to inflate the US economy, otherwise you have a bunch of people paying their 2 ...

Yep I think that Eur could well be next for the guillotine. It seems to me that sterling suffered due to a lack of clarity and transparency from the UK government and central bank. They didn't realise just how bad things were. Now we all know. But ...

H and S on the daily. If it breaks 4360 this could march down to 1.37 for the ultimate test. Even as a cable bear, in bear town, on bad bear day, this action scares the beejeebees out of me. As you say 700 down without a correction or retrace.

Agree 100% on the ECB Gammase. As I said yesterday ECB is the emperor with no clothes. I'm of the view that GBP is screwed mid-term and expect a test of 1.37. After that I think USD may well get pressured again due to printing so many notes. Overall ...

I hear you Gammase. I am surprised though at the divergence between the actual trade deficit and Mervyn King's view that the weakness in the pound would tame this. Can't believe he didn't know the figures when he made the statement in the last ...

Problem is, UK economy is in horrendous state and the BOE still won't quite accept it. The Fed has been practising the transparency of the totally screwed for some time. The only historical reason to hold sterling was the yield. At savings rates ...

There's some downward event risk overnight. BOE minutes and jobless totals. First will reiterate the need for more rate cuts, jobless - who knows. All depends on whether the market realises that UK will follow the Fed.
