Worked like a charm again today with EURJPY, GBPJPY and GBPJPY for me! Didn't take the EURUSD cuz it looked choppy. Glad I didn't.

Worked brillantly today for a bunch of US based currencies. Only took the EURUSD breakout though.

Oh! I have one myself! When using Interactive brokers, don't trade lower than the minimum amount for IDEAL PRO as you'll get sent to IDEAL where the spreads SUCK! I placed a buy stop order at 155.xx for GBPJPY and got filled at 159.xx when I wanted ...

This thread has made me realize how profitable trading on retracements can be. I guess it made me notice those small but very frequent retracements in trending markets that provide opportunity to enter and exit with a profit.

Wouldn't percentage dollar-wise change every day though? Say you lose $200 the first day, the next day 2% of your account will be $196 not $200 anymore.

Nomoretoxic, One thing I don't understand is the risk reward ratio when the pullback is far from the breakout peak. I mean I see pullbacks as far as 100 pips and yet aiming for only 20 pips profit. The risk far outweigh the reward. You'd need just ...

How did you manage to lose on GBP/USD? It was such a clean break out with a nice trailing stop it would've made over 100 pips. I took my 20 and moved on but should've put a stop at 20 pips and let it ride.

I guess you nailed it right there: higher success ratio. I suspect high probability combined to money management is the key to making something out of Forex or any other market for that matter.

My accountants have told me you either pay taxes in Canada OR in the US. Not both. Who you wish to pay depends on where the broker is located and other variables... I'm still shopping around for a broker myself...
