Babypips and especially MetaTrader4 are great, as many have said. One bit of newbie advice I wish I'd heard is to check out the Interactive Trading Forums for the pair you pick. EUR/USD is a very commonly picked pair, and during the main trading ...

I've been leaning towards hedging potentially large open positions instead of exiting them, especially if they're long. The theory being its *bound* to go into an uptrend in the near future, and even if not, the losses will be trivially higher ...

And some of us just got up ^^. Officially doubled my account while I slept, not bad, though my risk management is perhaps iffy. Time to continue the hands-on lesson on why beginners shouldn't trade fundamentals or news.

Bleh, couldn't remain focused at all tonight. Too many 10 hour days. Still netted 40 pips or so, at least. Going to hedge my open positions and head to bed. Night guys. Night army of 0-10 post lurkers.

Just candlestick patterns when it gets near support or resistance mostly, tight stops, etc. not very formal about it atm. I would've bought at 1.4700 had I been paying attention, but eh.

More or less what Psiholog said earlier. Its moving slowly within a tight range, but very predictably. I shorted 1.4725 with a pretty large lot size an hour or so ago, closed around 1.4705. The movements are small but much easier to predict than ...

This is painfully easy to trade though, just need larger lots instead of aiming for larger moves.

Funny how that felt like such a large move after today's "volatility". Yay for large lot sizes, I suppose.

Breakout time soonish, according to the 30m.

"Euro rises against US dollar following economic report" This was quite a while ago, only noticed it just now--what is it referring to? The first German news way back?

No clue whatsoever. I didn't expect that test of .4700 at all.

The candle formations on the 4H are really, really bullish. Thats bugging me. But everything else seems bearish, so I'll stick with my positions for now.

Don't think so. I increased my position when it hit 1.4675 again, were still within the hourly channel, higher TF trend is down, among other things.

I never want to see a doji again.

I still expect the triangle-forecasted breakout to occur, but that stuff is necessarily inexact, and certainly not 100% anyway. I doubt we all drew it exactly the same way. I'm expecting a short breakout any time now--or well, more ideally going on ...

I'll try them tonight, thanks. Short 1.4675. Again. Same reason, hopefully better timed entry. Also a favorable dollar news release, though their claiming the dollar did well "early Wed" makes me laugh :<. Must be the other pairs.

Short 1.4675 because the price hit the edge of my triangle on 30m. Seems ok so far. 3 pips! Oh man I'm awesome.

Well, sort of manually. I draw them on one chart then wrote scripts that let me easily manage them and apply them to other TFs (I usually have like 8 EUR/USD charts open at a time), and note why I drew it, etc. Mostly, I got the impression those ...

Am I the only one that gets SR lines purely from marking points on the line chart in the 4H/1D/1WK/1MN timeframes? Getting the impression I should just abandon this and learn the more official ways as a priority.

30 pips off this bounce so far. Zzz, is this the normal volatility for this time of day? I usually start around 3AM EST.
