Have you looked at the ManageTakeProfit EA. Much simpler and might be something you could use.

Thanks Steve (and all who have contributed) for a truly amazing piece of kit. I wonder does anyone know whether the Tightening Stop Loss function was ever resolved? I have read through the complete thread, and the relevant sections several times but ...

Scientist and Vensik I am grateful indeed for your tolerant (of my lack of awareness) and helpful replies. I hadn't appreciated the purpose of this section. Now I understand. Great idea. Thanks again Chris

Hi Scientist... ...forgive me if I am missing the point but I don't quite get why you are posting these results. It is interesting (very) that you think you have developed "a very powerful system based on EAs" but without giving an insight into what ...

Thanks very much for your reply, jr2007. I fully appreciate that you are testing the system. I'm not looking for definitive answers. Just trying to understand where you are at now. I am excited about what you are doing. Thanks again.

Answering my own question here... Duh! I've just worked out that the reason for your chosen long/short directions is simply they're the prevailing long term trends! Stupid me or what!

jr2007 or anyone. Thanks very much for putting up that information, jr2007. I'm afraid I'm still very confused. Am struggling to understand what you have written. I'd be very grateful if you or anyone who has more experience than me can help with ...

jr2007, Thanks for your interesting post. Please can you explain the principle behind your system in a little more detail? I presume it has something to do with the inverse relationship between EURUSD and USDCHF but I don't get the advantage at the ...

Thanks, birdt. I'll take a look at the Auslanco threads. Also thanks for the idea of the three momentum indicators. Will experiment.
- chris001 replied Oct 28, 2007
Thanks for the interesting urls birdt. Worth being wary when each successive candle is smaller/larger and closes further from its intraday high. You may be right about people getting bored. But I agree with you it has legs and it's ideal from my pov ...

Well those four didn't do any good given the unusual movement today!

Where have all the traders gone? — Hey all, what's with this thread? Until the end of August it was fairly humming with activity. But now nearly everyone who used to post ideas, comments and refinements seems to have disappeared. Are you all ...

See my post of yesterday. I think it depends whether the orders you are trying to place are above or below the current price. I guess different brokers call it different things. Good luck
- chris001 replied Oct 17, 2007
Are you sure you are correct? I think it depends where the current price is - at least it is with North Finance the broker I am using. This is how they deal with pending Buy Orders: Buy Limit — buy provided the future "ASK" price is equal to the ...

This makes a lot of sense.

I am grateful for your reply, FX4live. What you have said made it very clear. Thanks.
- chris001 replied Oct 17, 2007
Ah...! I think I got confused! In the absence of being able to see the levels on FX4Live's original charts I was uncertain as to which way to draw the Fib. But FX4Live's response #16 to et_phonehome_2's two charts in post #15 seems to clarify this. ...

image This is how I set up the chart this morning - after midnight on Monday night. It is only a dummy as I am not trading yet. I have colour coded the Orders and TPs for clarity. Please can you let me know if it looks right, FX4Live? Many thanks.
- chris001 replied Oct 11, 2007
Hi. Some confusion in my brain here! I understand we are buying the price retracement at each Fib level on its way back up. But when exactly do you put the buy limits into the market? For example the current price on your chart (around 1.1806) ...
- chris001 replied Oct 10, 2007
Thanks for posting, fx4live. To understand better I have re-created the fib and chart on my software - slightly different candles but I guess that is down to time zone. I use charts from North Finance which are +2hr GMT. Do you only use 1 Hr USDCHF? ...
