Although I appreciate discovering the Gann line to use with the 123 pattern I have to say that this thread seems to be all over the place as far as rules are concerned and when they apply. The author saying that trades taken in the buy/sell zone ...

Perfect Gann with 123 and profit target — As you can see with this pic there are a few instances where price broke the negative line and had we moved the Gann line to that point we would have been in a trade according to the rules as I ...

As you can see from my last pic, waiting for price to break the number 2 instead of taking trade when the second Gann line is broken has a much better success rate. And less likely to stop you out.

And one more... Target is nearly always reached.

Here is another screen shot. As you can see the target (green line) was reach but this can sometimes take some time. Again trade was taken after price broke Gann line then formed a lower high or 123 pattern

Gann and the 123 — have been trading 123 patterns for years now and while back testing I noticed many happened after the break of a 45 degree trend line. I did some testing and was dissapopinted when I discovered that the 45 degree trend line ...

Going buy your own rules the second break here is actually invalid because you do not have a lower high

Nice diagram wedwed what do you use for profit target?
- forexgaz replied Aug 5, 2009
OK after doing some back testing of this strategy here is maybe a simpler way of explaining it. Haiderfsd, interested in your thoughts. As you can see in the chart attached I applied a Gann negative line with a value of 10 to the last highest high. ...

Here is another trade based on your strategy. Anything wrong with this one?

Here is another chart of another successful trade. Price breaks the negative line creating a buy zone. It then pulls back forming a 123 pattern. I take the trade when it breaks the number 2 and because you never did tell us what the profit is I take ...

That's just the problem! I have studied your lessons several times and they are very hard to follow. My pic clearly shows I put the grid on the last low and the last high. Price broke out to the downside into the sell zone then retraces to the ...

Can I ask what your profit target is?
- forexgaz replied Jul 22, 2009
Now here is the same chart but instead of choosing a scale or making the scale 10 I just moved the grid from the lowest point to the next lowest point. I have no idea what the scale is as it moved as I moved the grid from one point to the other. But ...

Grid question — OK here is a chart with the grid left at 45 degrees (or scale of 1) To me it looks confusing. Have I got something wrong or is this in a sell zone most of the time but takes off as a long trade???
- forexgaz replied Jul 22, 2009
The grid indicator is included in metatrader which you can download free. It's not under indicators in metatrader it's under "insert" then "Gann"

haiderfsd, after reading this thread again it seems every reader is confused about the angle of the grid. Some folks are saying keep it at 45 degrees then you say to wedwed the above when it looks like he is just joining up highs and lows and not ...

Sorry. That last entry should read... Also haiderfsd, you say to set grid scale to 10 in metatrader but then you line up a low with a higher low. Doesn't that then change the scale from 10?
