Hey 7bit! First, thanks for the trend EA, it is great. I've had succesful trades on the 30M, H1 and D1 charts! On D1, it is extremely profitable though a bit longer to get rolling. By the way, if you're still using it, when do you buy/sell a basket? ...

Do you know if forex is eligible for a TFSA? Let's say I put 500$ in my Oanda account and it grew ...

I tried running both EAs on the same chart and here's what I've got: I don't quite get the difference in the moves even though they follow the same pattern.

Hopefully I'll requote you in april with a much larger figure!

I started with 500$ and I'm now at 1750$ in 4 months. The beginning was a little choppy, but from 1000$ to 1750$, my balance has grown consistently. I don't hurry anything. No blown account No chart with 45756 indicators No 1M entry strategy with ...

Are you using the original code without modifications on trend mode? As for now, I'm using the orignal code on range mode and doing decently.

I've made around 50 pips with the original range EA off the 1H chart! 7bit, you posted some tests you've made on the original trend EA which showed that using the same coefficients wasn't good since it was drifting away from the mean because it was ...

So here is the trade on the 15M chart. I got in at 1 stdev as you can see on the first picture and got out at the mean as per the second picture. It happened about 60-62 ticks later (15 minutes periods) and as you can see, both plots are not ...

If you are on a 5M chart, every 5 minutes you add a tick to the 2000 values of the plot and remove the first so it most likely won't have any effect on the basket composition. Come back in two hours and you'll have 24 new ticks and then you will see ...

I've taken 2 trades on a demo account yesterday to see how it behaves. First trade was on the 15M chart and the second was on the 1H. I've closed the 15M trade this morning as it was back to the mean. The other on the 1H chart is still open. I'll ...

I think you are both right. When you get so far from the mean, you don't need as many units to make a profit if you assume that it will go back to this exact mean. If you are 10 pips from the mean and have 100 units, you only need 50 units to ...

For this, all you need is enough testing on your parameters Data (number of ticks because if you add ticks, it changes the factors) Timeframe Number of pairs Value of spread at which you're confident enough to get in (0.5 stdev is NOT enough!) Stop ...

This is a good idea. What we would need is to choose a base currency (to limit calculations) and have the EA calculate the best basket possible (largest spread in terms of stdev). It would calculate every possible basket of 3 or 4 pairs, chosing ...

Stuff that comes through my mind... If you look for signals on M15 (large spread in terms of stdev) and confirm it's the same on the 1H, I think you've got yourself a decent trade that should be played out before the end of the week since you almost ...

If you guys do look at some random baskets on random timeframes as I'm doing now as I get comfortable with the EA, maybe we could all help eachother and share our results in terms of trading hours, basket composition and timeframes.

Looks like going 5 minutes bar with only 400 values is kinda risky statistically. Did you get good returns in terms of pips? How many lots were involved? Also, did you try with both the range and trend mode some random baskets until one was looking ...

Ok, thanks!

When you get in a trade, you buy/sell the basket accordingly to the chart, but then do you re-ajust the lots as new ticks come in? Also, do you have it logged to Oanda, if so, how? Finally, I guesss you just test some random pairs together and when ...

Maybe you could help me out... When trying to compile the EA you posted in the first page, I have warnings telling me that StartR, StopR, RX, etc. functions are not referenced and will be removed from the exp file. Can you help me out? I'm really ...

Could you have a problem with 5M prices where you "create" correlation? I mean, when there is a downtime at markets close/open, price-action will get really slow, hence repeating the same value for a few candles in a row without much action. This ...
