Soooo...4 years later I wonder how The Fool is doing? If he succeeded, he is a millionaire. OR was it a lucky streak? Perhaps he remained successful but his monthly percentage decreased as it does with many longterm traders. Inquiring minds want to ...

I know this is old, but how many pairs did u test against? Did u test against the recommended pair?

How long did you demo before trading? I manually trade my account because most commercially available ea's are crap. HOwever, I have found two ea's here that have been good and I am comfortable with the performance and risk of each of them, one of ...

s Whooo hooo! Thanks Steve!!!

I wouldn't worry about it. You simply cannot predict which way the market may go with consistency. I would just be "in" the market and let the logic of the EA do what it does.

TOB — Guys(and Gals) I've been silently following the Old Beast since October of last year. I've used very conservative setting. Equity curve is beautiful and I only trade the original 3 pairs. The looks much better than m manual trades and is ...

THERE IS A REASON I AM ASKING. There are 80 odd pages and 1200 posts and although I have read entire threads with larger posts, an OP usually doesn't subject a person wishing to take a look at their system with a curt response to read the entire ...

Where are the files? — Team, I hate to be a turd, but generally all template and other files are on the first post of a given system. I cannot for the life of me find a contiguous set of files. Does anyone know where I can find them? Regards, ...

It's amazing how two people can reach the same conclusion using two different methods of confirmation. For me, it was just an area of previous resistance, for you it was prices refusal to close past 100% Fib extension.. It looks like we have what ...

Radio, Did you notice price go up to my original test of the 83.60 levels? It did reject the level but not as strong as I would like. I still went short and regardless of where we entered, it's still in the same ballpark. I'm just less aggressive ...

Astral, I second what you said about Beastie. Actually, I'm using the original Old Beast using only 3 pairs and since October 1, 2010 I have made 5% every month with only 2.07% DD. I am up 23% so far. Totally hands off.

\ That AUD/JPY does look good. I'm waiting to see how price reacts 83.60 before I enter. I see resistance in that area but I need to see good price action rejection around those levels before I consider a short position.

Funny you should say that. Part of the reason I ventured out on my own two months ago was due to the contant change of the system. Bob adapts quickly to market changes and it was hard for me to keep up with long term testing due to the frequency of ...

Thanks for the tip on the dreamline thread. It'll be very useful. And you're right about those runners. We had runners galore and it reenforced the lessons of taking on too many postions relative to account size. I'm just so glad for the recovery ...

Radio, This is a "unique" property of nightingale systems, which our recovery process employs(albeit on a limited basis). Be careful in its use. It can burn you if used incorrectly. Just a matter of time. Try limiting the number of active pairs ...

Radio, I traded the system as is until about 2 months ago but I took away some valuable things, most importantly the recovery system. You can take almost any system, flip a coin and regardless of market direction come out on breakeven. I now trade ...

I see. It makes sense from that perspective. Give it a try and share with us the results.
- sebring001 replied Nov 8, 2010
We could do it that way but it would lead into a larger drawdown if it gets hit. With the moving average cross, it will be less and potentially avoid a runner. Every system has a market condition that is least desirable for its method and this ...

Naw....he's got a 1 hour and 4 hour on the same chart..
- sebring001 replied Nov 8, 2010
Bob is trying to avoid runners. The MPTM shows it beauty only after it moves in your favour to some degree. If prices reverses quickly after entry it doesn't do much good unless you have a hard stop less somewhere. Bobs cross will get you out sooner ...
