Just a little more clarification, would a confirming bar in this case be a BUOVB totally engulfing the previous bar? Or would it just need to close on the highest part of the bar? Thanks.

Any updates? Unfortunately the filtering system filtered out a bunch of huge movers last week. Also the SilverTrend red dot on the EURUSD has redrawn at least 6 times over the last 2 weeks. I'm starting to be a bit weary.....

I'm not sure that I follow you.... 1) are you saying AO trumps SilverTrend on entries? Or 2) is this an signal to move our stops up on previous trades.... Though I'm not positive what you were getting at, I personally only agree with statement 2. ...

On my daily charts there´s an IB on the Wednesday's GBPJPY (my day closes at 5pm EST). The Silver trend "dot", although 4 bars away, indicates short. The AO also shows a barely noticeable albeit red bar with a value of 0.120. Would this fit the ...

Good catch damon, like most things in life it was a bit too good to be true haha. Ill keep an eye on it as well.

Yes, I included all the IBs inside the large runs. However if there were two IBs side by site, I only traded off the the most recent. I quickly went through and made a more detailed visual of my testing, if someone wants to audit me. One note, I use ...

The trailing stop I've been employing in this basic bask testing is essentially a Gann 3 day low stop then. Counted 2 bars back from the current bar (not counting IBs), and placed the stop at the low of the two for a long trade. However I never ...

Well I call it a Gann 2 bar but really it's just like HH3/LL3 I believe.... for a long trade, just count two bars back (not including IBs) and move your stop to the lowest of the two lows. That way you stay with the trend that keeps making higher ...

Good to hear it. I did some simple backtests on EURUSD and GBPUSD and it REALLY filtered out the bad trades well. For this testing, I used a different TP strategy. It was a Gann 2 bar count, starting with the hard stop loss at the opposite end of ...

Damon, I checked out the indicator, and it doesn't seem to appear in conjunction with all of the IBs. Also it appears with some bars that aren't IBs. I know you're still testing this..... in addition to only playing one side of the IB, are you ...

Interesting take slade. However I did some backtesting, and my results indicate that this doesn't avoid whiplash quite as much as I believed. My criteria was fairly simple.... I looked to see if the 144 fib would keep you out of a bad trade. If it ...

On my charts, for the week starting Feb 3, I don't see a pin bar. This is because open/close are right in the middle of the bar, indicating indecision. A good pin bar will have open/close at the top/bottom 33% of the PB. Edit: Just realized you may ...

Hey Damon, thanks for posting, it's helping me coalesce some ideas for a trading strategy. One question, would you mind shedding some light on how you formed your TP strategy? I'm obviously not sure how much you've researched/backtested this, ...

1.4600 is definitely a crucial pivot point that hasn't been to friendly to EUR longs recently, both for positions taken on Feb 6/7 and Feb 12/13. Will the third time be the charm? This long EUR trend seems to be losing steam to me.... but I'll stick ...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that looks like a Sunday bar. If you count 5 bars before/after after this one, you get more Sunday looking bars.

Thanks for starting this journal zoopy, I'm a newb who doesn't have the $ yet to join Jacko or J16..... hopefully I can glean some ideas from you! Best of luck, I'll be following your progress. P.S. Although I just discovered this journal today, it ...

I'm also a newb, but I don't see a pinbar on your chart around the white circles. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a good pinbar has these general characteristics: -Located at swing high/low -Protruding "nose", with open/close within 33% of one end of ...

Nice chart SL, really illustrates ppz's well. I'm looking for price action on the dailies to get in long the euro again.

I have read the entire thread and am currently demoing the system. Although after a 2 weeks I have only entered once (for 22 pip gain), as a newb I like it for its simplicity. Doing my best to be patient, although sometimes I wonder if I'm overdoing ...

I'd like to bump this post if you don't mind, does anyone know where to plug in the "8,1.3,1.3" that james spoke of in reference to his Keltner Bands?
