the check of RSI(50) can be redundant in most cases. what's more important is NOT to open long orders when RSI > 70 and NOT to open short orders when RSI < 30 .

a new version — hopefully the bug that caused the trades to get closed right after the opening is fixied in this version. Also, i added a log file that will help to understand what goes wrong. please run this version from the next week. I ...

i am working on fixing it... very annoying bug..
- domchik replied Jan 3, 2008

Guys, let me try to explain my twisted logic again It's not a bug - trust me the flow of the EA goes like this : 1. when it's initialized, the variables allowShort and allowLong are set to 1 It means : "Allow both long and short trades" 2. ...

It's a good idea. I'll prepare a version that uses MACD instead of RAVI and we'll see how is it going .
- domchik replied Dec 31, 2007
sure, RAVI is an indicator that shows the strength of the current trend. I am using the version from www.fxfisherman.com forum. there are 2 parallel lines on it. when the signal line is between these 2 lines, it means that the trend is weak. these ...

attached is a version that doesn't use Profit Manager (UseProfitManager=fasle) and instead of trailing stop, it exits upon Simple MA(8) and EMA(5) cross in the opposite direction. trailingStop in this version is set to 0. if you change it to another ...

thanks a lot! i am pretty sure that the problem is with Take Profit Manager logic. Therefore, i am going to set UseProfitManager = false and use a regular trailing stop. In addition, I am working on the version that implements Helon's suggestion to ...
- domchik replied Dec 29, 2007
yes, that's what i would do too. Ohka suggested this idea, but unfortunately I had no time to implement it. it would be great if anyone could do this.

hi, thanks a lot for your feedback. i got the similar results for this week. i also saw this bug when it closes the trade on the same candle. unfortunately, i had to close and reopen my MT and i missed one very important thing that can help me to ...

i trade it on FXDD demo account. 1h chart. i am not familiar with the system you mentioned, so i guess the answer is no or not exactly. i have never tried to backtest it. in my forward testing, it doesn't close the order on the next candle. i am not ...
- domchik replied Dec 19, 2007
oh, sorry, I haven't understood what you meant. Yes it does. and I guess you are right - it doesn't really change anything.
- domchik replied Dec 19, 2007
well, the purpose of this condition is just to make sure that RAVI is not too high or too low. what you suggest is to check the direction of this indicator. that wasn't my intention, but i can try what do you mean by that ?
- domchik replied Dec 19, 2007
the latest version — hi, this is the latest version of this EA. i made a few changes to it. Now I use RAVI indicator (attached) to avoid bad entrances. it also uses a more advanced version of Take Profit Manager EA (thanks to its creator) if ...

another idea — hi, I got an idea this morning. please tell me what you think. the idea is to manage the trades this EA opens on all charts (say, EUR/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CHF, GBP/USD, AUD/USD) as a single trade that will have a common take profit ...
