Interesting lesson today, been gradually getting better results by trading options. It's taking me awhile to get things going but getting steadily better, decided today of all days to use some of the profit from a cable option I closed earlier today ...

This has convinced me to stick with options & never trade lots again, utterly hysterical PA. Can't take this market seriously at all
- bennyblanco replied Dec 12, 2013
Yep, there is no serious moves at this time of year. It's all about whipsawing weak positions, you can tell that from the comical PA.

Not actually done much trading this year at all, been very busy with work so I'm exploring using options which need less attention from me. Only started over the last month, not the best outcomes with the low volatility but should work better in the ...

Frustrating move, needed a push into 1.38 really & not a feeble retreat. Like I said, market is pretty much over for 2013.

Market is basically saying go away & come back in Jan, it's all over for 2013 folks

I've got 1.3850 call option open from start of last week (along with a 1.3350 put), expires tomorrow. Was looking good last night after entering the 1.38 area, but the PA has been pretty lame since and we've seen this feeble drift down. Don't really ...

The moaning in this thread when eur dares to go up, but of course it's all good and doing exactly what it should do when it drops. Can't have it both ways

I've got 2 week options open waiting for any ECB action this Thursday, this current PA shows why I'm more wary about shorting this pair than going long. It loves stop hunting shorts, lot of people thinking its overbought and must be a sell will be ...

Yep, going to try again on Monday with 3 week options this time. No way would I try the short strangle, not worth the risk imo

Really kicking myself for taking out a week long option and not a 2/3 week, should have known this pair was going to be stubborn
- bennyblanco replied Nov 29, 2013
Well, the US holiday has completely killed trading in this pair, I'll be amazed if it moves more than 10 pips from here.
- bennyblanco replied Nov 29, 2013
I've given up on my 1.3650 call option (expires at 15:00 UK time), this pair is so under control the last few days. Not the most exciting PA, frustrating that it hasn't had a run higher into 1.36

Looks an interesting read, cheers

Start of the week I bought a 1 week 1.3650 call and a 1.3350 put with IG, because they were both far away from the current price they where very cheap. But if you get a decent trend then it'll pay off, you can settle the option at any time before ...

Thanks, I'm very much at the experimental stage which this option strategy I'm trying. Be cool if it works, but I'll actually understand why if it doesn't for this pair this week. Cable was the one but hey ho
- bennyblanco replied Nov 28, 2013
it would have worked with a option trade, the key is range of movement & cable has moved. This pair can't get out of its 1.35 box without getting kicked back in
