Hi all, it's nice to see interest in this work. Unfortunately these days I am a little bit busy, I hope I will be able to work on this in the near future. In the meanwhile, I see there are so many suggestions, can anyone summarize the most important ...

26 pairs, it might be that the platform is locking up because it is downloading bar data for all the charts and timeframes.

Sorry guys but I have no time these days to dedicate to this project. SpacyTrader, the specifications for this "TMA filter" were not completely defined so I had give my interpretation. In this case, I consider the "current price" as the Bid price ...

I updated post #1 with Symphonie EA v0.0.6. I implemented some of the options described in the previous posts, mainly to avoid entry orders in obviously wrong conditions. I also added an optional TMA filter (disabled by default, "UseTmaFilter = ...

I attached the TMA indicator to a chart and it looks interesting indeed. How are you using this indicator with Symphonie?

Javajames, I will add TMA as soon as I manage to filter out the trades that, even if they follow the rules of the system, are obviously wrong. What do you mean with "I also regret you don't use user functions enough imho"? To split the code in ...

Hi lhDT, thanks for your suggestions. For the moment I want to stick to the base rules of the system, because it's clear to me that there are several tricky situations where a manual trader wouldn't enter but the automated EA does. I am still not ...

Another tricky situation, start of week gaps lead to entry orders in the direction of the gap (e.g. long entry with up gap). A manual trader wouldn't do this. I will add an option to skip new orders during the first hours of the week.

Because the Metatrader client writes lots of files in its installation folder (e.g. logs, compiled files, downloaded experts, etc.) You'll never know what strange behaviors you can get. There are several posts on these forums reporting problems ...

Here are two other examples of entries due two inverse spike disappearance. A manual trader would never take those entries. I'm going to add the option to skip entries in those cases.

The problem is with the UAC feature of your OS. For security issues, an application is not allowed to directly write in the "Program files" folder. It's always a bad idea to install the MT4 client in that folder. But if you move to that folder with ...

Javajames, maybe I explained myself wrongly. In this phase I am checking if the EA follows correctly the entry conditions of the original indicators only, with no further modification of the core strategy. Additional features and indicators will be ...

Hi javajames. For sure I can add your condition as optional entry filter. But first I prefer to solve the entry problems I outlined in the previous posts. I think they are the main reason why all EAs for this system are failing. The EA applies ...

Another note regarding the previous picture, the indicators repainted so heavily that the entry conditions referring to the previous SELL order almost completely disappeared
- asasa replied Feb 24, 2012
Here is another tricky situation. A past SELL extreme (as displayed on chart by the history) has just disappeared, leaving a BUY condition on all four indicators and therefore a new BUY order. Entering long at that point (after a strong up move) can ...

The following picture shows what I mean when I say that what you see on the chart is different from what the EA gets from the indicators, even if they are working with the same set of parameters. The EA is getting an extreme sell on bar #1, while ...
