I'm not saying anyone should give a damn about the WSOP main event. You're criticizing the comment out of context. ------ OK, that's a good point. I didn't know he spent that much time away from the game. And yes, this was just a way of talking ...

I said that Chip Reese never won the main event. That is true, he never did. It doesn't surprise that he won other tournaments. The HORSE tournament may be gaining in prestige, but it isn't the main event. --------------- This has a lot to do with ...

This isn't quite true. It's not exactly wrong but it conveys the wrong idea about a winning strategy. Poker is a game about matchups - that is you're matching up a selection from a wide range of values against your opponents selection of values. ...

First off, Darkstar, thank you for your help and for continuing to contribute. Surprised to hear order flow trading described as a mindset. I was taken in by this post, and like FXEZ, I didn't want to reveal something that Darkstar appeared ...

@Hanover While I have not yet played with your indicator for finding trending pairs, I really like the idea. But if you looked at the correlation between two currencies over the short term you would not be able to take advantage of volatility's ...

This is a great idea. There are a number of members with a few thousand posts, who have written some great material, e.g. James16, hanover, mbqb11, BillyRayValentine etc. If we could see their output in sets of 100, with the entire post being shown ...

daytrading, As you know, I don't think you've posted anything of merit in this thread. However, in post #1004 you said, If you could bring some strong evidence showing questionable behavior on these issues then that would be of real interest and ...

Try a different browser. There's a menu on the right hand side with a link labeled 'Research'. I can't link directly to it, the research page has the same address as the welcome page.

Larry Harris' book is worth reading but there is little in it on the Interbank Market. Check out Carol Osler's website. I have not yet read Richard Lyons' book, but it's on my list.

That's a rather interesting claim. I couldn't care less about your opinion on his methodology, but I'm very curious on how his live trading results "suggest the complete opposite!" Please explain. Are you saying he didn't post live trades? Really? ...

I don't know; shutting up might be a bit much, but maybe. However, given this and this, I would certainly be surprised.

I have no idea why jacko is your object of fixation, from here the whole thing is kind of weird. If you've really got something substantial to say, come with it. So far your performance has been pretty sorry. Is that right? Come on.

Is it really a common business practice? I've been to quite a few trading education sites and I don't know that I've seen any traders post financial statements and records of trades. Now I haven't emailed anyone asking for their statements, but I ...

I did read all the posts. Always thought it was a weird distinction. And as the thread progressed, it seemed to be used as a rhetorical maneuver to dismiss; kind of like labeling my comments "unqualified". As if there's a standard they failed to ...

Some posters may have a personal understanding of the word 'mentor' where they think it is a requirement that no compensation be given for tutoring, but there is no support for that position in the dictionary. Its standard usage is to refer to a ...

The Relative Shape of Daily Forex Bars — I've been browsing this thread off and on for some time now, and while I like what I see, I've got a lingering concern that I can't shake. Some of the best trades overall are off of the daily bars and ...

Backtesting — Given the lack of consensus in backtesting his methods, and his statement that the best systems are notoriously hard to backtest accurately, what advice does he have for prospective backtesters interested in volatility breakouts, ...

I don't agree with this. It is to be expected that a charted random input, like a coin flip, will have sections that match charting patterns. There is nothing surprising about this. In the fullness of time, that is an infinite number of trials, ...
