The 5 minute is very doable, but you have to keep checking the charts very frequently. When the market isn't too active , it can become extremely boring.

You can trade on any time-frame really, even odd time-frames like 2-3-5 hours, once you begin to read into the price action I think timeframes become irrelevant, unless you go down to sub 1 minute timeframe.
