France's external merchandise trade balance stands at -16.022 billion euros for the third quarter of 2019
In the third quarter of 2019, the FOB / FOB trade balance deteriorated by 1.5 billion euros. This deterioration is due to the one-off drop in aeronautical exports, particularly to Asia, combined with the rise in car imports. In addition, French foreign trade was hit by exceptional shipments of military equipment in the previous quarter. These phenomena are partly offset by the decline in the price of Brent, which pulls down the amount of energy imports and chemicals.
