Greek Fin Min Continues Bailout Review Talks Amid Resignation Rumors
Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos might be willing to resign because he doesn’t want to succumb to creditors’ pressure, says German newspaper Bild and Ntv news agency. Unlike Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, Tsakalotos does not want to sign the new austerity measures Greece’s lenders require in order to complete the bailout program review. The reports state that the Greek finance minister does not want to cross the 9,100-euro line he has set for the threshold of tax exempt incomes, with creditors insisting on taxing incomes above 8,182 euros.
