Speculators Start The New Year By Turning Their EUR Bets Into Net Longs

For the first time in 16 months, speculative traders on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange turned their EUR wager into net long position, data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) showed on Friday. Traders shifted their bets from a total of $420 million in short EUR position last week to a total of $845 million in long EUR position as of Tuesday (first net long EUR position since Aug 2011).
