Real (price adjusted) new orders in manufacturing were down 11.1% in January 2026 month on month after seasonal and calendar adjustment, according to provisional figures of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). When large-scale orders are excluded, new orders were 0.4% lower than in the previous month. These figures illustrate the high level of December 2025 when new orders reached the highest value since February 2022 mainly due to large-scale orders.
