The global economy is slowing but has been more robust than anticipated in the October Report, in large part due to the surprising strength of the US economy. Growth is expected to moderate further in 2024. Inflation is coming down in most major economies and is expected to continue to decline gradually toward central banks’ targets. In Canada, consumer price index (CPI) inflation is still too high but is easing gradually.
