RMB's global payment share up in August
The Chinese currency renminbi (RMB), or the yuan, saw its share in global payments rise in August, according to a report. The RMB's global share was up from 3.06 percent in July to 3.47 percent in August, according to the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), a global provider of financial messaging services. The RMB remained the fifth most active currency. The RMB payments value also gained 18 percent from the previous month, while in general, all payments currencies increased by 4.02 percent.
