HCOB Spain Manufacturing PMI: PMI remains in contraction territory during September
Spain’s manufacturing sector experienced concurrent falls in both output and new orders during September. Market conditions and high prices were widely reported to have weighed on sector performance. Employment also declined sharply, whilst confidence in the future remained below its historical average. On the price front, input costs and output charges both fell again. The headline HCOB Spain Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index® (PMI®) posted a reading inside negative territory during September. After accounting for seasonal factors, the index recorded 47.7.
