LEI for China Fell in July
The Conference Board Leading Economic Index®(LEI) for China declined by 0.6 percent in July 2023 to 153.8 (2016=100), following downwardly revised decline of 0.1 percent in June. The LEI contracted by 1.7 percent from January to July of 2023, a much smaller rate of decline than -3.8 percent over the previous six months. The Conference Board Coincident Economic Index® (CEI) for China rose by 0.3 percent in July 2023 to 141.7 (2016=100), after a 1.0 percent increase in June.
