New Zealand Q2 CPI rises 1.1%, slightly faster than expected
New Zealand's consumer inflation came in slightly above expectations in the second quarter but remains at historically high levels as prices rise for everything from food to housing. Consumer prices rose 6.0% year-on-year in the second quarter, slower than the 6.7% increase in the first quarter, Statistics New Zealand said in a statement on Wednesday. It is now below the three-decade high of 7.3% inflation seen in the second quarter of 2022.
