  • In April 2022, consumer prices increased by 0.4% over one month and by 4.8% year on year

    In April 2022, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.4% over one month, after +1.4% in March. The prices of energy fell back (−2.5% after +9.0%) linked with the decrease in petroleum product prices (−6.8% after +17.0%). The prices of manufactured goods slowed down (+0.5% after +1.4%). Those of services accelerated (+0.7% after +0.2%) notably due to a seasonal rebound of transport service prices (+9.4% after −0.9%). The increase in food prices was more sustained than in the previous month (+1.4% after +0.9%). Seasonally adjusted, consumer prices rose by 0.5% after +1.0% in March.
