New Zealand Food price index: January 2018
Food prices rose 1.2 percent in January 2018. After seasonal adjustment, food prices fell 0.6 percent. In January 2018 compared with December 2017: • Fruit and vegetable prices rose 2.0 percent (down 3.1 percent after seasonal adjustment). • Meat, poultry, and fish prices rose 2.4 percent. • Grocery food prices rose 1.4 percent (up 0.4 percent after seasonal adjustment). • Non-alcoholic beverage prices rose 1.2 percent. • Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices rose 0.1 percent.
