Disliked{quote} If you know MMs are bear or bull, why you care about news ? how many times have you seen good news come out and the price hasn't move ?Ignored
We have seen time and again the quick moves in conjunction with releases. No, they don't always happen, but when they do it is a run for profits on positions already built in advance, which explains the previous unexplained move followed by ranging.
So, when such a move followed by ranging occurs, one might want to know what is it that is around the corner that we can't see, that the banks can see and are engaged in planning for. Hence the value of knowing the next week roster of high impact releases.
Some might construe what I have written here as another way to trade news. That is not the purpose of what I have written here. The purpose is to point out a part of the analysis of price action that can be derived from knowledge of the timing of releases, a part that might provide a clue as to why PVSRA is indicating what it is indicating by pointing to a possible catalyst the banks are planning for.
Good post, allisonmagic.
