Dislikedhey
this is a really exciting EA, been on my charts for only a few hours yet already multiple trades mostly all in deep profit
can anyone think of good settings to use for TP or a trailing stop eg using MPTM ea to manage the trades, since this EA has no built in take profit options? or maybe can those settings be hardcoded into the EA ?
thanksIgnored
DislikedMy first post here is for help, sorry...jjj.
I've been reading all the thread about this strategy, and when i put the EA in mt4, the one of this thread, in GBPUSD H1, i get "2011.11.04 10:46:59 Lawgirl21 MA Cross with Hanover EA GBPUSD,H1: GBPUSD Lawgirl21's 3/8 MA crossover OP_BUY order send failed with error(131): invalid trade volume"
I used the one in the main thread of Lawgirl, and work well, but now, i get always that error in any pair, it can`t open an order...
Anyone has this error and know how to fix it?? its my first time...Ignored
DislikedWell, I checked the code and it is normal the EA take a very few trades (or take no trades at all).
The EA looks for a cross in current TF and higher TF and the same time.
It almost nerver happens.
You should look X bars back for the last cross a set that value.
here is the function I use in my EA :
[php]void getPreviousCrossHigh()
{
int backBars = 1000;
for(x=0;x<=backBars;x++)
{
Higher_FastMaVal = GetMa(hTF, 3, 0, 2, 0, 0+x);
Higher_PrevFastMaVal = GetMa(hTF, 3, 0, 2, 0, 1+x);
Higher_SlowMaVal...Ignored
DislikedI'm on the same route as LG as I only load the EA on the chart that I wanna monitor and leave it as it is. Is it the right move for me?
Not trying to speak for LG, but I am also unable to obtain any execution or should I say, no trades were opened despite waiting for about 2-3 hours.
I've done the following:
a) opened say Eur/Usd chart, to 1hr
b) load the EA
c) never change anything, just defaults
d) wait.
nothing happens.
sorry, but I don't really know how to read computer stuff.
I guess it's may not be in a typical lady's interest.....Ignored

DislikedI have EA on 5 charts..with TP20 and SL20. Three are still running, although EURUSD is about to hit TP. USDJPY and GBPUSD hit TP.
Two open trades.Ignored

DislikedI'm gonna eyeball some charts this weekend and see how this setup interacts over the last month or so. Maybe get an idea or two about trading hours and trade management to try out next week.
I have a question for magft: if the MAs cross at, say, 9:26, does the EA act on that immediately or wait for the candle to close?
On another note, mine was trading 10 pairs and usually had a trade open on all of them at once. For the most part, they were trading in a nicely correlated fashion, ie, long EUR/USD while short USD/CHF, etc. So on a 4H or Daily...Ignored
