You seem to be going through what I first did when I started. I tried every indicator I could, but in the end I just work with a ema cross. It has taken me a number of years to sort through all of the data. In the end you have to go with what works ...

Been reading a large number of responses to this thread, some helpful some well.... Here is a thought. Take your $50, when you have doubled take out the $50 you put in, after that point the trade doesn't owe you anything. If you lose the $50 analyze ...

Neat concept. The risk is low enough that if you keep working at it ( employing trading methodologies you know work) you really should do well. I certainly don't have a 91 w/l ratio, but even my 2-1 w/l will generate a decent amount of money. Thanks ...

Thanks for the offer. Here is one that I have found to be effective. It is in the Euro/yen 5 min TF and the MA's are 5 and 8. I haven't done a lot of back testing on this so it would be interesting to see what the results would be.

After spending years testing out all of the indicators, I have successfully settled on just one, a moving average cross over. I have found that it works best with a specific pair and a specific time frame. It should be noted that they work not in ...

From my experience (fx trading for over seven years) I think trading different time frames successfully largely depends on ones risk tolerance. I have tried trading shorter time frames and have always been beaten up badly. I trade the dailies with ...

Good question! Here are a couple of thoughts from one who almost gave up a couple of times. First, trade smaller. Even if you are only trading .01 on a mini. You can stay in the game. Second, and this is the most important, learn all you can. This ...

A note of thanks — FX-Pro Was disappointed to read the negative comment posted by someone. Disappointed for two reasons. First, anyone who has a system that is right 80% of the time for the last two should be thanked not condemmed. Second, I ...

A little tweak — Nifty system. I have added a little tweak to it. Use it as confirmation or as an indicator as you wish. I added a 5ema to the indicators, seems to work well. The 72 bar s/r is very helpful

Market comprehension — I have traded stocks, stock options and commodities as well as the fx. Each market has its own behavioural characteristics. Personally, I do better in the fx than I do with stocks or commodities. I think the reason is ...

Dollar index vs Dow Jones — Lawgirl, I used to follow the dollar index fairly closely. After a while I begin to see a stronger correlation between the Dow and the euro/$. No relation is perfect or forever. The key is adaptability and ...

MA'S with a twist — This is similar to what I use, though adding the 200ma for direction is a nice addition. I use a 3/7EMA cross over. Since 2008 the Euro/USD is pretty highly correlated with the Dow Jones Industrial average. I use the same ...

Criticism — It really bothers me when I read someone critizing some one else's work. If you don't like it go some where else. These people were nice enough to try and help. They don't have to do it. I appreciate what was done here, even if you ...

SL's and the like — I used to have that problem. I learned three things. First, trade a small enough margin that if you get stopped out it won't hurt that much. Second, don't put your stops so close that you will certainly be stopped out by ...

Time frame — The best time frame I have found is the 1hr. Shorter ones and you are subject to whipsaw, longer ones and you miss out on a lot. This is not to say that others maybe able to do very well with either, for me the 1 hr works best, in ...

Trading success — I agree with the perspective that ones trading psychology is so critical. That said, learning and testing different trading technics is a good experience, if for no other reason but to truely learn what kind of trader you ...

Thanks — Thank you for sharing your trading strategy. I have been using the core of what you share with outstanding success! For me I just wait until the first open above or below the balance line. Did it first on a demo making 250 pips. Then ...
