Economists Note Dovish Tone to BOE Report, Speculate on Timing of Rate Cut
(CEP News) Frankfurt - Despite record inflation in the UK, economists detect a dovish tone to the Bank of England's quarterly inflation report released on Wednesday, and are speculating on when a rate cut could arrive. With the BOE's quarterly report highlighting the central bank's concern over upside risks to inflation and downside risks to growth, Calyon Research Deputy Head of Global FX Strategy Daragh Maher found many similarities between the BOE's most recent release and the previous report published in May, "but with the volume turned quite a few notches higher."
