NZ dollar weakens on continuing coronavirus concerns

The New Zealand dollar weakened amid continuing anxiety about the economic impact of the coronavirus crisis. The kiwi was trading at 64.33 US cents at 5pm in Wellington from 64.50 cents at the same time yesterday and 64.02 cents in New York last Friday. The trade-weighted index was at 71.42 points from 71.59. The market has shrugged off the positive impact of the Reserve Bank's upbeat monetary policy statement on Wednesday and is back to monitoring global developments related to the virus, "particularly with the confusion around the revisions to the data," said Hamish Pepper, fixed income and currency strategist ...
