The first estimate for euro area (EA19) exports of goods to the rest of the world in August 2019 was €177.4 billion, a decrease of 2.2% compared with August 2018 (€181.4 bn). Imports from the rest of the world stood at €162.6 bn, a fall of 4.1% compared with August 2018 (€169.5 bn). As a result, the euro area recorded a €14.7 bn surplus in trade in goods with the rest of the world in August 2019, compared with +€11.9 bn in August 2018.
