New Home Sales Stabilising

New home sales in the June quarter were up by just 0.8 per cent on the preceding quarter. This is the first quarterly improvement – albeit a notional improvement – since the December quarter in 2017. This slight increase over the three months to June, suggests that the decline in new home sales may have started to slow. Over the year to June 2019 every state measured in the New Home Sales Report, recorded a sharp contraction in sales.
