Scam artists pose as FINRA’s CEO, make investment ‘guarantees’

Robert Cook, the top boss at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, has been impersonated — and not in a good way. Scam artists, posing as the FINRA CEO, “guaranteed” fraudulent investments to victims — and had the audacity to put Cook at the helm of the International Monetary Fund instead of FINRA, the Post reports. Doubling down, the financial tricksters ripped off FINRA’s name and logo in their dastardly correspondence – using a bogus signature from Cook to promote an investment opportunity that was, in reality, an “advance-fee scam,” according to FINRA.
