Price-adjusted increase of German retail turnover by just under 3% expected for 2017

According to estimates of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), retail turnover 2017 in Germany is expected to be between 2.7% and 3.1% higher in real terms than in 2016. In nominal terms turnover is expected to increase by between 4.5% to 4.9%. This estimation is based on data for the first eleven months of 2017. In this period retail turnover showed an increase by 2.7% in real terms and 4.6% in nominal terms compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.
