Private sector employment increased by 178,000 jobs from June to July according to the July ADP National Employment Report®. Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP National Employment Report is produced by the ADP Research Institute® in collaboration with Moody’s Analytics. Companies added 178,000 jobs in July on a surge in service-related occupations and despite a decrease in manufacturing jobs, according to a report Wednesday from ADP and Moody's Analytics. The number was just shy of Wall Street expectations of 185,000. As the economy inches closer to full employment, the report showed that job growth continues but is slowing somewhat.
