$100M Scam Shows Even Facebook and Google Aren't Immune to Simple Cons

A new report has revealed that two of Silicon Valley's top internet companies fell victim to a shadowy payments scam that went on for two years and cost them as much as $100 million. Between 2013 and 2015, Facebook (FB) and Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google wired money to what they believed was a large Asian-based manufacturer charging them for computer supplies after their accounting departments received forged emails, invoices and corporate seals, according to Fortune.
