Leaving the EU without a deal on future trade arrangements would open up a "Pandora's Box"for the UK economy, business leaders have warned. Paul Drechsler, the CBI president, says that leaving the UK to fall back on World Trade Organisation (WTO) rules after Brexit would be "not only wrong but irresponsible". In a keynote speech in the City of London, Mr Drechsler will warn that British firms would face tariffs on 90% of their exports to the EU products without an agreement as well as a raft of new regulatory hurdles to negotiate.
