Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) Governor Glenn Stevens has disappointed expectations of a rate cut at the past two meetings, but there is an even bigger level of support for him to act sooner rather than later, with a backdrop of a strengthening Australian dollar and a weak economic outlook. Some data suggests the economy is indeed doing better, including employment figures for March which showed job growth of 37,700, beating most estimates by some margin.
