Investment bankers might actually be worth their astronomical pay. That’s one of the findings of new research out of Harvard Business School and the University of Zurich. “What we observed in the finance industry is that if you are the most talented, you are the most well compensated,” said study co-author Boris Vallee, an assistant professor in the finance unit of Harvard Business School, who worked in investment banking before entering academia. “It is a meritocratic view of Wall Street, which is not necessarily what we typically hear,” he said.
