Consumer prices in Germany rose by 1.2% in April 2013 compared with April 2012. The inflation rate as measured by the consumer price index thus continued its downward trend (March 2013: +1.4%). A lower rate of price increase was last measured in August 2010 (+1.0%). Compared with March 2013, the consumer price index decreased by 0.5% in April 2013.
