NZ Inflation expectations drop a tad

Inflation is expected to be just 2.4 per cent in two years from now, down from 2.5 per cent expected earlier in the year, according to the Reserve Bank's June quarter survey. The survey of businesses also showed economic growth expectations in two years from now have also fallen, down from 2.6 per cent last quarter to 2.4 per cent in the latest quarter. Monetary conditions are seen as easier than neutral and are expected to stay relatively easy in the coming two years- in other words, low interest rates are helping to boost the economy, rather than hold it back.
