German Industrial Output Rises More Than Forecast

German industrial output rose more than economists forecast in January, rebounding from a December drop as construction activity jumped. Production rose 1.6 percent from December, when it fell 2.6 percent, the steepest decline in almost three years, the Economy Ministry in Berlin said today. It revised December output from an initially reported drop of 2.9 percent. Economists forecast a January increase of 1.1 percent, according to the median of 39 forecasts in a Bloomberg News survey.
