Investors backed off record anti-euro bets ever so slightly in the past week, according to the latest report from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, released Friday. Speculative traders held a net short euro position, or bets the euro would fall against the dollar, totaling $18.6 billion as of Tuesday, according to the CFTC's weekly commitments of traders report. That is a decline of just 2% from the previous week, when investors held the largest net short euro position in at least four years.
